Strata in Verdigris is a handmade wall sculpture of stacked, layered ledges bands of shifting relief that recall sedimentary rock or a cliff face worn back to its layers. Each form is carved and cast by hand in the Boldstone studio in Bath, England, then finished with a hand-applied faux verdigris patina, shifting from deep sea-green in the recesses to pale chalky turquoise along the raised edges. Because the patina is worked by hand, no two pieces take the finish in quite the same way.
